The Agilent/HP 81570A is a variable optical attenuator plug-in module (single slot) for Agilent's Lightwave Multichannel Platform 8163, 8164 and 8166 series, used for attenuation and control of high-power applications. Using 9/125 µm single mode optical fibers (SMF28), Agilent 81570A features high power capability (+33 dBm) and excellent wavelength flatness for DWDM applications. Other standard applications include characterization of EDFAs, test of Raman amplifiers and multi channel transmission system testing. A pigtail version (see 81573) can be used for optimization of power loss when fibers are spliced into the set-up. This high resolution module (0.001 dB) has a typical return loss of 45 dB and is used with straight fiber connector.
