Agilent 81577A Optical Attenuator (iVOA)
The Agilent/HP 81577A is an intelligent variable optical attenuator ( iVOA) plug-in module (dual-slot) for Agilent's Lightwave Multichannel Platform 8163, 8164 and 8166 series, used for attenuation and control of high-power applications. Using 9/125 um single mode optical fibers (SMF28), Agilent 81577A features power control functionality: this HP 81577A module automatically corrects power changes at the input to maintain the output level set by the user. In addition, it provides high power capability (+33dBm) and excellent wavelength flatness for DWDM applications. Standard applications include characterization of EDFAs, test of Raman amplifiers and multi channel transmission system testing. This high resolution module (0.001 dB) has a typical return loss of 57dB and is used with an angled fiber connector.
