The principle behind the 5300 is to have one unit at either end of the fiber link. Typically each unit is equipped with sources at one or two wavelengths (850 & 1300 nm). Using the Softkey-driven menu one can achieve end-to-end bi-directional results at two wavelengths in less than 40 seconds all through a single connector.
