Is that your best price?
We are first and foremost a store and we do not give discounts on a regular basis. AssetRelay main market is the end users and we firmly believe that all our customers should be considered equally and deserve to get our best service. However, discounts are extended from time to time depending on the product’s demand and the quantity requested. We believe that our prices reflect the market value, the excellent service you will receive and our expertise to make sure the equipment is in perfect condition. It is our guarantee that you get all the units you purchased, fully tested or calibrated (if calibration is required) to ensure it meets OEM specification and professionally packaged to make sure it will get there safe and sound! We do not offer a reseller’s discount. In short, yes it’s our best price.
Who pays the transport charges?
Unless negotiated otherwise, orders are shipped on the customer’s own courier account. When sending a PO, you must provide a courier account number, the desired service from the courier and whether you require insurance on the shipment or not. Don’t forget to also confirm the “Ship To” address. Goods are shipped “FCA Gatineau” which means that they are your property the minute they are in the courier’s hands. Should transport damage occur, it is the customer’s responsibility to make the necessary claims. We will help you in this as much as we can. We can also ship on our account; shipping will be prepaid and charge and the terms are the same. Duties and taxes will always be the responsibility of the buyer.
What is the Condition of products sold at AssetRelay?
All units are used (unless otherwise noted). Each unit is expertly tested to ensure it meets OEM specifications. We don’t knowingly sell defective units. If a unit in your order is found to be out of spec during pre-shipment testing and it is the last one we have in stock, you will be immediately notified of the problem and asked whether you would like to continue with the order or not. We can also help you locate similar equipment from our stock. Unlike most resellers, we do not spend our time in refurbishing the looks of the unit, for example we don’t operate a paint shop to ensure there are no scratches on the top of a rack-mountable tester. When the unit is shipped out to you, our focus is to make sure that it is in good working order without too many dings or scratches. Still, we strive to have equipment that looks as close to a new unit as possible.
Where is the equipment located?
All the items listed on this website are in our Gatineau (Québec, Canada) facility that also houses our calibration and repair lab.
What is your Lead Time?
We strive to maintain shipping delays from 5 to 10 days from the day we receive your purchase order. Once received, the item(s) from your order is (are) sent to the lab for complete pre-shipment evaluation and calibration (if required). Once completed, the order is sent to our shipping department where it is expertly packaged and shipped on your courier account number with your preferred service. However, if you are in a rush to receive your purchase, let us know and we will figure out a way to deliver it faster. We will provide you with an honest answer whether it is positive or not. We are here to help!
Are all manuals and accessories included?
No, unless otherwise noted. Most items we have were obtained through bulk purchase from companies or branches closing, auctions or directly from end users and we rarely receive the manuals. We try to put any documentation we have available on the web. Do not hesitate to ask and, if we have it, we will be glad to send you a copy with your purchase. We will also be glad to provide you with additional pictures upon request. The only accessories included are normally those displayed on our web description. If it is not clear enough, please ask and, if necessary, we will confirm with the lab or in the warehouse directly.
What are the Terms of Sale?
In general, our sales terms are prepaid and most of our products come with a 30-day warranty and no ROR. We can offer extended warranties and ROR on a case-by-case basis.
Do you reserve items for customers?
Generally, the only way to get equipment put aside is to send a purchase order. This way, the equipment will be sent to the lab for pre-shipment testing and removed from the web site. Please note that ALL sales are on a first come, first-served basis.
Do you issue or receive “Want Lists”?
We do not issue wants lists. On the other hand, we do receive some from time to time but, we don’t usually answer them. The reasons are pretty simple. We receive so many lists that we don’t have the time to look at them. Anyway, a fair number of these lists are for equipment that we do not stock up on, such as electrical and/or electronic based equipment. Asset Relay specializes only in fiber optic test instruments. Unlike several other sites who simply post any item that comes to mind then once they receive a request or an order, then try to find that particular piece of equipment, our ENTIRE inventory is online! This should eliminate the need for us to confirm that we have the equipment or not. If there’s a quantity posted on the web, it is in stock. The best thing for you to do is to check on our site directly prior to sending your want list.
