The N7745C, an upgrade to the widely-used Keysight N7745A optical power meters, is designed for efficient high-throughput measurements, making it ideal for characterizing optical multiport components such as multiplexers, PON splitters, wavelength selective switches (WSS), and ROADMs. Its features include high-speed data acquisition, quick data interfaces, uninterrupted simultaneous measurement and readout through dual-ported RAM, and swift power range switching, all of which contribute to a streamlined measurement process and post-processing. It also supports transient measurements with power threshold triggering.

The N7744C employs the trusted N7740 fiber connectivity approach, featuring a quad-adapter with a quick-locking snap-on mechanism. This allows for easy and ergonomic connection of the device under test, even while another device is being measured. The quad-adapter ensures repeatable high-precision connections and simplifies the alignment of connector keys, particularly beneficial for rack-mounted instruments. It supports MU, FC, SC, and LC connectors, as well as bare fiber connectors.

With its space-saving channel density and the convenience of integrating multiple instruments into a single setup with parallel programming over LAN or USB connections, the N7745C offers a user-friendly experience. Its common trigger concept across the family and a modern, browser-accessible user interface further enhance the instrument’s functionality.
